Changes In Renewable Energy In Uk Become Challenge For The Solar Industry

According to the words of Ed Davey, the Energy Secretary, the new created subsidy scheme is here to help the green energy sector and reduce the reliance of imported gas. This was revealed after the government has decided to provide up to lb300m of support subsidies added to the renewable power industry this fall. However, the whole strategy has brought anger to the solar industry which accused this move as irresponsible and not valuing the true meaning of money. The anger came because the new budget for the auction system for these kinds of green energy schemes reserved little more than lb200m. The raising to lb300m came after the cash was raised using the money from the underspent cash in previous rounds.

Ed Davey has added that they on the verge of transforming the energy sector in the UK while dealing with a big legacy of underinvestment. They are making their way into building new and stable generation of clean power supplies that will reduce the reliance on international markets. Davey also said that the annual investment in renewables has doubled since the numbers in 2010. They even hit a record in 2013 investing up to lb8 billion. By completing these projects they are making sure all consumers of renewable energy get the best deal available out there as well as clean and secure power sector.

The CfD auction system has been little bit sceptic about the more expensive and less established new sectors like the offshore tidal and wind. They claim these new sectors are away from being cheaper and include more advanced technologies from those onshore. On the other hand The Department of Energy and Climate change has defended this project saying that the step has been made because solar is already used too much and it keeps taking the biggest part of the whole subsidy budget. Of course, the Solar Trade Association has denied these reports saying that this is not the case here.

According to Paul Barwell, STA CEO, solar has always been the rising star when someone mentions renewable energy program. It has been celebrated like the undefeated champion by the Prime Minister and the other Ministers at the UN conference. He added that solar could and should be cheaper than fossil fuels going further, but it needs bigger help from the government to get to that level.
