Andhra Pradesh Aims For Top Slot In Solar By 2020
The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet approved some of the key features of the solar and wind energy policies such as easy clearances through single window system, easy permissions and treatment like industries.

Mr.Raghunatha Reddy, spoke about how these are the best policies in the country and other states do not have flexibilities and facilities in the policies.

The feature of Single widow method has been introduced for giving permissions for solar park and wind power facilities and they would be treated on par with the industries.

For setting up the venture they would be given land related permissions without any surcharge levied if they sell power within the state. In case of wind power projects the District Collectors have been given powers to allocate.

Andhra Pradesh has a target of achieving 5000MW in solar energy in the next 5 years. Currently it generates 127MW of solar energy. The target for wind power generation is 4000MW by 2022 while its present generation for wind is 897MW.
